Encantada Resort Disney World Area

We had to look it up by Encantada in Spanish means “enchanted” and that is a very good word to describe the feeling one gets when he visits this first class resort.

Orlando Vacation Hotels

The concept is quite unique. The developers took the best of a hotel and blended it with first class 3 and 4 bedroom town homes each with their own private pool. Here a family of four or larger can enjoy all of the comforts of home, be as close as a short two minute drive to Disney World and all of this is offered for the nightly rate of a moderate hotel room in the Disney area.

The “value” is the key to this resort.  When one considers having 1,400 sq ft of first class living verses 450 sq ft in a hotel room…there is simply no way that even a five-star hotel can win this match. Further Encantada offers the same amenities as that popular chain hotel…such features as front desk, lounge, two heated pools, huge game room for the kids, pool tables, fitness center, internet café, wireless connections in the huge club house….it is all here!

As Bill Usker from Ottawa Canada said… “WOW! Is what I can say about Encantada….we spent 7 days there with my children this spring? The location was excellent and the villa itself was gorgeous in all respects…it was great to return home after a full day at Disney World.”

Location is important to any vacationer. He wants to stay close to the action and in Orlando that would be near Disney World. Located only 2 blocks from the brand new 429 Turnpike one can drive a short two minutes and find himself at the entrance to Disney’s Maingate.

But proximity to the parks is just one thing….look at the restaurants that Encantada is near: Waffle House, McDonalds, Red Lobster, Cracker Barrel, IHOP, Denny’s, Western Sizzler Steak House, Florino New York Pizza, Golden Corral, Dunkin Donuts, Friday’s, Outback Steak House, Subway, Taco Bell, Burger King, Bob Evans and of course, many more. If you choose to go out for lunch or dinner, Encantada is well located close to a myriad of fine eateries.
The Clubhouse where the front desk is located is huge….one of the largest I have ever been in….9,000 sq feet! Here one can find almost anything from a libation to take out to the pool, to the huge internet services area. The kids need to play games, while dad sharpens his skills on the pool table; it is all in the Clubhouse.

Now, the real treat is the fishing lake located in the center of the property. The lake was stocked with bass some time ago and many an angler has dropped his line to catch a 3 lb bass. The only restriction is that if you fish and catch, you must release. By the way, you do not need a Florida fishing license to fish in this private lake…just bring your own pole or buy one at the nearby WalMart.

Taking a look at the individual units was fun. I first noticed that all of the units were furnished the same. This is a first to my knowledge. As Joel Ibanez the general manager explained, “we sell each unit to an investor completely furnished, therefore, we can maintain the high standards of the resort.” I liked this feature, for if I was looking at a villa or town home to rent, I would desire to see the actual unit that my family would be staying in. As Joel said, “exactly, this way when we talk to a possible client we can show them what their bedrooms will look like as well as the kitchen and other living areas…all units are the same in every way.”

Speaking of the kitchen, we found it to be fully equipped with all of the glassware, dishes, silverware and pots and pans a family of four to six would need. In each unit, we found the refrigerator to be quite large along with the stove and oven, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker.

The only draw back that we could find to the resort was with the size of the three bedroom units. Here the master was a bit cramped with the oversized double bed and the other two bedrooms had twin beds each. When queried about this, Joel was quick to point out that the average length of stay was three nights and that with such a large living and dining area down stairs; the three bedroom two bath units were somewhat snug.

We then visited the four bedrooms and my first word was WOW! Now this is a vacation home that will even meet the most discriminating of traveler. From your own private family sized swimming pool to even a bedroom on the main floor (ideal for grandparents) and a master suite fit for a king (King bed and all)….this is luxury and all for only $10 to $15 more per night. We also found that the 4 bedroom 3 bath unit was extremely well equipped and offered the larger family far more room than needed to spread out and not get into each others way.

All in all we rate the Encantada Resort an A+ due to its superb location, its sumptuous manicured grounds, its first class decorative units, and its ability to take a hotel to a whole new plateau.  It will offer your family a truly “enchanted” vacation.
